Kiki Bertens did it again Nuremberg and defeated Barbora Krejcikova in the final, rolling to her third career WTA title, 6-2, 6-1 in only 56 minutes, while in France australian No.1 Samantha Stosur won her ninth career title at the Internationaux de Strasbourg, outlasting countrywoman Daria Gavrilova, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3.
In Nuremberg, the current World No.19 came through qualifying to win the title last year and this year she has won without lose a set.
Bertens was effective behind her delivery when it mattered, winning 84 percent of points behind her first serve and 74 percent of points played in her service games total. Krejcikova had two chances to get the second set back on serve at 3-1, but she couldn’t do anything against Kiki’s powerful service.
In Strasbourg, Stosur was very happy with her new conquest “It’s great to win a title. I was glad to be able to serve the match out very well. Sometimes that’s not an easy thing to do, especially in a final. But I felt like I was really composed and played very well. So I’m happy to get the lead and hold on in the end.” Samantha said.
